헷갈리기 쉬운 모음 짝

ㅏ vs ㅓ

right / left

둘 다 세로선 계열입니다. 짧은 선이 오른쪽이면 ㅏ, 왼쪽이면 ㅓ입니다.

Both are vertical-based vowels. Right-side short stroke is ㅏ, left-side short stroke is ㅓ.

ㅗ vs ㅜ

up / down

둘 다 가로선 계열입니다. 짧은 선이 위면 ㅗ, 아래면 ㅜ입니다.

Both are horizontal-based vowels. Upper short stroke is ㅗ, lower short stroke is ㅜ.

ㅐ vs ㅔ

spelling first

ㅐ와 ㅔ는 철자상 서로 다른 모음입니다. 초급에서는 철자와 단어 중심으로 익히는 접근이 가장 안전하며, 실제 발음에서는 비슷하게 들리는 경우도 있습니다.

ㅐ and ㅔ are different vowels in spelling. For beginners, a spelling-first approach is safest, and in actual speech they may sometimes sound similar.

자음 공부 팁

ㄹ은 한 글자로 못 고정함

위치에 따라 소리값이 달라질 수 있습니다. 초급에서는 이 점만 먼저 알아도 충분합니다.

Its sound value can change depending on position. For a beginner, knowing that is enough at first.

ㅇ은 자리가 중요함

초성 자리에서는 소리값이 없고, 받침 자리에서는 ng 계열로 느껴집니다.

In initial position it has no sound value, and in final position it is felt as ng-like.

영어와 똑같다고 생각하지 않기

한글 자음을 영어 철자 하나로 고정하려 하면 오히려 헷갈립니다.

Trying to lock a Hangeul consonant to a single English letter usually creates confusion.
